An important
note about rescued animals in sanctuaries....
The animals that we rescue are not "AKC Pedigreed"
animals. This is one of the reasons that we get them. Zoos only want perfect examples of a species. They
will be registered in a breeding program, which means that their pedigree must be known. Rescued animals are usually
the result of uncontrolled breeding programs, and the animals are often further damaged by such things as declawing (cats)
and cutting tendons (bears) and even defanging (cats). These are all very painful and debilitating things to do to an
animal and make the animal useless to any zoo. As it grows bigger and more dangerous, the owner finally realizes
that the animal is too big and dangerous for anyone but a professional handler and a professional facility.
Here at Forever Wild we love each and every one of the cats we've rescued and they have become
become part of our family. We vow to provide safe and caring homes to all that pass though our doors for the rest
of their lives. Please read some of their stories......
